Amelia Rolled Over

The girls were having gossip hours this morning while their brother was still sleeping.

All of a sudden Amelia rolled to her back! Adalyn has done it before but this is a first for Amelia.

Next up, figuring out how to roll back over! Adalyn is getting close to that, it is only a matter of time!

They're Just Too Cute

Thank goodness for my iPhone. I've taken a lot of pictures on my camera but many times I don't have it ready to go and my iPhone does the job. This long weekend I went iPhone picture crazy but they are just too cute. I can't help it!

Jayden was creative and enjoyed ice cream in the basket while it was stuck between the couch and ottoman. Looks fun to me.

The girls looked hilarious in their bunny ears from Nana.

On Easter they were spoiled by everyone!

The twins got new swimsuits from Poppy and Gma. These suits have built in diapers. I don't think they will be wearing these to the beach this summer though. That would be too messy!

They've both really started to smile a lot more! Too cute!!

Our little athlete went bowling at scheels this weekend, played baseball and started golfing. Not sure where he got it but he's good at all the above sports!

Happy Easter 2012

Happy Easter!!! Today was a great day with our family. All three cuties woke up happy which makes for a great day. Jayden came upstairs and once he saw the baskets he wasn't going to stop! The Easter Bunny, Nana, and Great Grandma Acree all did a fantastic job!!
He enjoyed some M&M's for an early morning snack!! Everything in his basket was "cool" and he was very happy!!
The twins got a few new bows and a new dress!
We also made it to church on time. Nanny took a picture with her five great grandgirls!!

Our family who made it to church with Nanny!!
Jayden got another Easter basket from Poppy and Gma. The baseball bat was a hit!! He got a few other goodies too. The twins struck home with new bottles, swimsuits, Wubbanubs, and a pretty pink outfit!

After lunch we headed to Nanny and Poppa's house for an Easter egg hunt! I loved this when I was little!!

Then we headed back out to the country for another hunt. Jayden made $14!
When we got home, they flew the kite.
It really was a great day!! Happy Easter!!

Adalyn and Amelia are THREE Months Old

Sweet girl and sweet pea are three months old today! They celebrated by being awake this morning as I left for work!

Here are their three month stats:

1. Adalyn weighs 10 pounds and Amelia is slightly behind at 9 pounds. They are growing so fast!! I think Adalyn still has at least an inch on Amelia.
2. We are moving slowly from newborn clothes to 3 month outfits. The length of three month clothing is perfect, but the rest of it is too big!! Both girls are wearing size one diapers. We have two more boxes of 200 to go through and then it is on to size 2!
3. Both girls are "talking" a lot more and smiling too. They are the happiest in the morning! Adalyn is starting to make the moves to roll over, but Amelia just likes to squirm.
4. Their addiction is still their Wubbanubs. It is actually getting a little crazy. They fall asleep with them in their mouth at night and have days where they need them all day! Jayden never did this!!
5. They are still eating 3 to 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day. Sometimes Amelia struggles to take her bottle while Adalyn doesn't miss a drop! At night, they have made it from 10 to 4:30 without eating. I can count on them waking up between 2:30-4:30 for a feeding. I think if they would eat more during the day, they could go longer at night.
6. They are continuing to take both my milk and formula. I hope to continue this through the summer. We will see!
7. They are sleeping together in the pack and play upstairs. I think it is almost time to move them to a crib. We may be bringing one of their cribs upstairs. I just can't make the trip downstairs in the middle of the night!
8. Bedtime routine is awesome! I wish Jayden would have slept as good as these two. Around 7 each night, the girls get a warm bath and then take a bottle. We put them in bed awake around 8 and they fall asleep on their own with the help of their Wubbanubs. It is awesome! We try not to mess with this routine because it is too good to mess up!
9. The girls are awake a lot more during the day. We try to follow the eat, play, sleep cycle to keep them in a constant routine. They both enjoy swinging and playing on their play mat. They do not enjoy tummy time, but really need it! Jayden likes to tickle them in the morning, but still loves to knock over their bottles. I guess that is the boy in him!
10. I went back to work this month and it is going well. I do not have to venture out of the house with the babies so it makes it really easy. We've got great people caring for them each day, so we are very lucky in that aspect. The girls are really starting to look more alike as they grow. It is going to be so interesting to see what they look like when they are toddlers!

Happy 3 month baby girls. You've got a lot of people who love you...even your big brother!! We love you very much!!

Back to Work

I'm back to being a working mom and so far it hasn't been too bad. Granted I've only been there two days but I'm pretty sure the next 9 weeks are going to fly by! Or at least I hope.....

Thankfully I don't have to leave the house with any kids in the morning. This really makes my life a whole lot easier! I'm thankful for everyone who is helping out and for our two new temporary babysitters my mom found for the kids. I love having someone walk in my house at 6:50 in the morning!

After my first day back this little person was awake when I walked in the door and instantly lit up when I greeted her. It was so cute!

He was pretty happy too!

This little one really didn't want me to go to work today because she woke up just in time to catch 15 minutes of alone time with me before I headed out the door.

I'm sure we are going to have our good days and our bad but things are working out pretty good right now and that is all that matters!

A Chick Magnet and Two Little Chicks

My Taylorville photography friend holds baby chick pictures in the spring and I really wanted to try them this year. I was crossing my fingers all week as I talked to Jayden about baby chicks. Much to my surprise, he sat right down and waited for the baby chicks. After he warmed up, he wouldn't sit down for longer than 10 seconds, but in that time she managed to get a few shots.

He looked like such a big boy in his new Easter sweater from Poppy and Grammy. He actually wanted to wear it all day long, but we are saving it for Easter Sunday!! He looks like his Daddy in that top picture and such a big boy!!

My two little chicks were not as cooperative. They were not a fan of the bright sun. However, when we got home they were wide eyed and ready to go!! I took a few shots while they were dressed up. I wasn't able to get their picture together. It is way too hard to get the attention of two babies at the same time!!
Adalyn is on top and Amelia is below.

Amelia is on top and Adalyn is below. Can you tell Amelia is really tired??

All three of them are going to look pretty cute on Easter. Maybe they will cooperate then?? I won't hold my breath!!

Sweet Amelia

Poor baby was worn out after a day of shopping and everyone thinking she was a boy. A tiny little boy actually.

I guess she just needs bigger bows to let everyone know she is a girl. The pink blanket, pink toy, pink bow and outfit just weren't enough today.

Poor baby. At least she doesn't know that strangers keep calling her a boy.

Well, maybe she does and her feelings were just a little hurt. And for that reason they both got a new pink dress.

Backyard Fun

We had some fun last night in our backyard!

Who needs a double stroller when you can fit two babies in one?? This won't work much longer, but it was perfect for a trip to see the horses. Both girls took a little nap!

The trees are starting to look amazing!! The colors are starting to pop!

April was even being friendly and let everyone feed her.....we were very cautious just in case! :)

And somebody became brave enough to swing without being buckled in!

We are going to have a lot of fun in our backyard over the next few years!!

Adalyn & Amelia's Baptism

Adalyn and Amelia were baptized this weekend at St. Mary's in Mt. Carmel.

Aunt Kay and Uncle Tim served as God parents to sweet Amelia and Uncle John and Aunt Kim stood up with sweet Adalyn. Thank you for being part of this day!!
Father Bill did a great job with the girls in a quick and special baptism that included our family. He is the best!

We enjoyed a luncheon after hosted by Nana to help celebrate this special day. The girls received many cute outfits from our family and really special pink leopard dresses from Great Grandma's favorite store Hugs and Hissyfits in Florida!
Jayden looked so cute at church, but fell asleep on the way in town!
Great Grandma and Grandpa Acree with their first great grandgirls!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped celebrate the girls' baptism. It was such a beautiful day!
