Just a few more.....

Grandma Acree's old table got a facelift today. A little sanding and some black paint was a lot of help for the old table. We will use it in the foyer. It will be the perfect fit with a little family flair.

Also, the downstairs sink is in and working. Now all our guest bathroom needs is a little wainscoting and it will be finished! yea :)

Our Weekend Work & Trouble

Here is a picture of the stump that caused us some trouble over the weekend. We were at the farm and had to have the tractor come and get it off the trailer. This was a giant tree! It took a lot longer to get unloaded than expected....imagine that!

Over the weekend some work was accomplished and, of course, problems. Above Aaron watches David get the stump off the trailer. Below is a picture of Madeline with the giant stump that Aaron pulled out of the ground. It took him a while!

Here is Jordan working on yard! However, Friday night the tire fell off the bobcat so we had to deal with that instead of hanging out with friends!

This is my new rug for the foyer. It matches the paint exactly!

Finally, is a picture of our kitchen. It is ready besides the trim around the windows and a few decorations! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Hardwood floors are finished....almost finished

It was a busy weekend at our house. The heating and air conditioner man came and is writing up a bid for our new system. Hopefully, that will be installed this month. The dining room is now blue. It did not turn out the color I wanted, but it will be ok once we get furniture in there. This is also the picture for the "before" on the hardwood floors.

Next, Aaron sanded down the floors so the nasty is gone. Except for the "age spots".
Finally, the floors were stained. Next step, painting the trim and then setting the dining room up how I want it!

The Foyer

Below is a picture of the hardwood floors in the foyer.

Then they got sanded.....there are still some bad spots but when your house is built in 1878, you have to expect some stains.

Here is the after version. Once we nice big rug in the center, the age spots won't be as noticable.

The Kitchen

Over the weekend, Aaron got to work on finishing the hardwood floors in the house. Below is a before picture of the hardwood floors.

Here is the after the sanding process was done. It was a little dusty in the house while I was taking pictures, so sorry for the spots. Don't worry, I had a mask on.

Finally he began to stain the floors with the first coat of stain. In two more weeks, the installation of cabinets will begin. :) I love progress.
