Back to Illinois

Our friends made the move back to Illinois and came for a visit last night! The girls are 3 months apart but nearly the same size!

The boys are about 4 months apart in age and Mayson towers over Jayden. Mayson's daddy is very tall though. He is going to be one tough cookie when he gets big!

Welcome back home, Aslinger family! Glad to have you only a car ride away.

On the flip side, our friends the Haugens' moved up north to Chicago. We are going to miss them but hope to keep some traditions still in tact!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day, everyone!!

Super J!

Splash Pad!

If it is hot and we aren't home or at the water park you can probably find us at the splash pad! The kids LOVE it! I wish we had one at home!

Growing....

The girls are basically done with their bottles as they should be at their age. They will take them sometimes, but other times they just simply dump them out. We are getting tired of washing all the parts so I am packing up the bottles (keeping 2 for emergencies) and passing them on to a friend. Tonight after Jayden's game, one nap nanny was out for Amelia, who did not eat well earlier. As I handed her the bottle, Adalyn started to whine a little. I took the bottle and split it between them to make life easier. Later when I was done loading the dishwasher, I found the girls like this.

Little Slugger

We have been lucky enough to involve Jayden in another sport and this has been my favorite one so far. I think it is my favorite because it is his favorite and he is having so much fun! There is no argument about going to baseball, wearing the way too big shirt or little black hat, cute little pants, and he must wear his baseball shoes. He didn't love his basketball shirt and wasn't a fan of soccer shin guards but baseball has been perfect!

Luckily, Aaron was able to coach baseball and I know Jayden loves the extra attention from Daddy!

Throwing the ball and he caught it---not looking---but he caught it!

Little man was up to bat and he is so little. He is one of the youngest on his team in the 3-6 year old league. I think he has only had to use the tee once all season. Quite impressive if you ask me. Major league material....not so much, but learning rules and listening he gets a gold metal!
A high 5 from Daddy at home plate!

Amelia and Adalyn are getting used to the sporting life. Poor girls are in for me. Paybacks will be when they have dance recital on a 95 degree day!!

Jay made it to 3rd, right where we were standing. He wouldn't look at me. I suppose it isn't "cool" when your mom stands with a big camera yelling your name.

"That's a winner!" Although there is no winner and every kids gets to cross home plate twice!

Jayden's team!

Our little slugger!!!

There isn't a cuter kid out on that field. Especially a little one who is always sitting on the bench waiting for his turn, ready in position and listening to the coach. He really is rocking this baseball thing in my eyes and it just proves how much he has grown and how well he can listen and pay attention!

Keeping swinging for the stars, Jayden.

Almost 1 1/2 Years Old!! 17 Months Old!

The sweet babies are 17 months old!! They are growing so fast and become more like little girls and not babies! I am not sure how it is possible that they are almost one and a half! That seems crazy!

1. The girls are growing and Adalyn is still taller and weighs more than Amelia. I think they are in the 18-20 pound range, but I will have to check. Today I measured them on the wall and it looked as if Adalyn is only 1/2 inch taller than Amelia!

2. They are wearing size 3 diapers and I have moved them up to size 18 months shirts in hope they will last through fall. They still need a 12 month pant/short, but in some brands 18 months is working perfectly! Both of them are growing!! It looks like we will be heading to get some new shoes soon too. Their feet are getting bigger! I think they are up to 4.5!

3. Bottle? Ha. They really do not want any more bottles and that is ok because they are getting too old for them. They do enjoy a nice warm milk right away in the morning if there isn't too much going on, but a sippy cup is now their BFF.

4. Trouble. They find themselves in a lot of trouble. Climbing, messing up puzzles, climbing, stealing toys from each other. They are wild women!

5. The eating is still the same. Adalyn could out eat Jayden and Amelia is getting better at eating. They love potatoes, beans, cheese, cereal, pancakes....well they love a lot!

6. Poor Amelia is cutting teeth this week and it hurts. Her nose is stuffy, her gums are swollen and she is just not happy. I hope more teeth pop through soon. They have taken long enough!

7. They love the bath, but Adalyn is still the swimmer. Amelia likes to get out first so she can go explore other places around the house. Ad would play all night if we let her. Both were brave this past month and took steps in the lake. They did great!

8. Sleep!! They are starting to stay up a bit later and sleep in a little extra in the mornings. Jayden's ball games last until 8 two nights a week, so they have been getting into the habit of an 8:30 bedtime. We will have to slowly move that back up to 8 in July. Adalyn is our sleeper. She loves naps. Amelia likes to be up and exploring!

9. They jibber and jabber. Sometimes you can really hear clear words such as Adalyn yelling for Amelia. They have the basic words down. Amelia is a bit more brave when it comes to trying out new words. She just says them first try!

10. I am looking forward to summer spending it with the three Acree kids. They are going to wear me out, but that's ok. That is what nap time is for!

We love you babies!!

Aaron's 1st 5k

We ran in a 5k this weekend to benefit a student in our school district.

This was Aaron's first race and he rocked it!! Jason and Aaron ran together and finished around the 25 minute mark.

I ended up having to walk most of it, but still finished!

It's Baseball Season

Soccer season is over and now it is time for baseball!

I think I am going to like baseball better and I think Jayden does too!

He is with the same kids and same program that he played basketball with as well as the same coach. Except this time Daddy is a coach too!
Sister bears are going to have to get used to heading to brother bears sports! Adalyn, of course, pulled her hair out. They look so different in these two pictures!

Each team gets to bat twice and play in the outfield twice. It is perfect!
Aaron is the pitcher, so he gets to pitch the through the two rounds.
The kids get 5 pitches before they bring out the tee. I love it! It gives them great practice!

Cutie head taking a drink break!
 Hey, batter, batter!!

This was Jayden's first hit without the tee! He smacked it between second and third!
I also love that the kids get to run to all of the bases. This program is really teaching them the basic skills and providing social interaction. I really love it!

Only three more weeks of baseball and then he is done with sports until the winter. They have been great for him in so many ways! We are thrilled!

Nana and PaPaw's Lake House

Memorial Day weekend we made our way down to the new lake house! The traffic was terrible on the way there, but we finally made it!

The girls explored once they got there and the stairs were their favorite spot!

We brought along their travel high chairs and they did just fine!

We will be headed back in a couple of weekends and Uncle Adam will be there visiting too. Lucky us!!

We look forward to fun times with family making memories!!

Our Preschool "Graduate"

Jayden is officially done with 3 year old preschool! He had a special celebration on the last day and family was invited to attend.

They sang their favorite songs and enjoyed a treat after!

Poppy drove over to see his boy at school.

Jayden's teacher Miss Beth was wonderful! She actually was from Taylorville and I danced with her daughter years ago! Small world.
Miss Sarah was the helper in the class.

Way to go, Jayden! Just another milestone to mark off the list. We are so proud of Jayden and how much he has grown this year at school. Looking forward to a successful year at his new school, Blessed Sacrament, next year!
