NashVegas

To celebrate my milestone birthday we headed to Nashville for a quick weekend trip while Nana came to stay with the kiddos!

We had some much needed fun and enjoyed some great company!

My friends Aaron, Kyle, Ward, Jason, Kristy, Misty & Kyle made the trip down as well!

We had a blast at The Stage on Friday night and stopped at many different places on Saturday night.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make the trip down and help me celebrate an early birthday! Yee haw!!

More projects

While I was busy working in the girls' room, Aaron set out on a project of his own.

He asked what I thought about putting in a new staircase before Jayden's birthday party. My answer? Yes!!!

I despised the old stairs. They were ugly and most importantly not safe with the loose railing!

So as soon as he got home from work and stopping at Lowe's, the demo began!

He picked out the stair treads, railing, and stain. My job was to stain all the wood.

Our stairs were complete just before the birthday bash and they look amazing!! Both grandmas were exceptionally excited for a new sturdy handrail to hold on to.

I will post the finished product tomorrow!

Thanks, Aaron for your hard work!! The stairs look awesome!!

A&A's Room

After the girls were born, we decided that downstairs was too far to travel during the night do the first few months they stayed in the living room. After that we moved them to the extra bedroom upstairs. Six months later, it is officially done!

I love the Pink Lemonade color and the polka dots that match the bedding make it even more girly!

Their bow board is full and my new name pictures make it *almost* complete. One more accessory for each girl above their crib, handles on the dresser and it will be complete!

Thanks to everyone who helped make their room cute!!! I love it!

Sleeping..it is getting better!

The girls are getting so close to sleeping through the night. The record so far is 3 nights in a row! Last night Miss Adalyn slept 12 hours (8-8)! Amelia woke up once for her binki and a pat on the butt. I let her fuss for a few minutes before walking in and helping her find her binki. This is something I can handle! Ten times a night I cannot do.

I am hoping this trend continues and only gets better.

Next step......getting Jayden to bed earlier!

Jayden's Party

It was a great day for a party and a great day to play in the water! We had a mini "water park" set up in our backyard and the little kids had fun!
Jayden wasn't scared of his water slide and had a ball!
Elliott took Jayden's 4-wheeler for a spin and big brother Evan took the big 4-wheeler for a ride!

Eric had fun with the kids his age getting soaking wet!
Payton had fun on the trampoline playing basketball with Jayden!

We enjoyed cupcakes and ice cream and then opened some gifts!

After the party, Jayden practiced his new bike and didn't want anything to do with taking a picture. I guess that is what happens when you are 3! Too cool for Mommy and Daddy!

Thank you so much to our family and friends who traveled to be with us for Jayden's special day!!

Jayden is THREE

Our sweet, fun-loving, crazy counting boy is THREE years old today!! I can't believe he is now considered a "pre-schooler"!

Dear Jayden,
Happy 3rd Birthday, Buddy! Today you are THREE years old although you think and would rather be four, five or six. You had a great birthday party and very special people came to celebrate with you! Family from Mt. Carmel made the journey to help you celebrate the big 3! A new bike, trampoline, and water slide were your biggest gifts!! You loved everything! For your special day we went to the water park and daddy was able to go with us. You two had a blast!!
I am proud to say that this year has been the healthiest year of your life so far. Isn't that crazy? You had your second surgery of your life this year and it was, by far, one of the best decisions we have made for you and your health. Those darn tonsils caused a lot of problems. You did get some cool toys out of the deal, meals full of ice cream (which haunt us to this day), and cool new apps for your iPad, which is an obsession of yours.
You have become a super athlete this past year. A lot of boys your age love sports, but I don't think it is to the extent that you do. You are awesome at basketball, baseball, and catching the football. You have some work to do on the greens, but I know your little friends can teach you how to do that or maybe even your grandparents! I heard that you will get to play organized basketball in the fall because it starts at age 3. How cool is that?
This year brought on a lot of changes for you too. We moved to a new house which you totally accepted. You lived in a pink room for a while. We were so scared that you were going to miss our old house, but you could care less about it when we drive by. It was a relief that you slept through the night in your crib when we moved just like you did at the big blue house. However, about six months ago you learned how to jump out of your crib. We decided to make another change and move you to a big boy bed. Guess what?? You rocked at that too. Another big relief. A change you didn't take so well was the arrival of your baby sisters. I know, two sisters, at once. I guess it didn't help that one came home and then a week later the other did. Six months later you are the coolest thing in the world to them. They watch you, laugh at you, become your little targets. You tickle them, try to pick them up, and make them laugh. It is pretty cool to see you love them.
We really didn't travel much as a family throughout year but we did make a few visits to family down south, our annual trip to the zoo in St. Louis, and several trips to Taylorville to visit. You stayed in Mt. Carmel with your Nana and Papa when the babies were born. We missed you like crazy, but you had so much fun! You did get to go on a really big trip to Las Vegas to see my friends Mike, Melanie, Mayson and baby Makynzie. It was your first airplane ride. I have to say you did might well except when they took your stroller away in security. That made you so mad. Really mad. We had a lot of fun and took a lot of pictures. It was a great opportunity to spend some Mommy and Jayden time together. Aunt Maddie went too. She was a lot of help and played with you!
After this birthday, you are going to start school. I think you are going to love school once you get used to it. You are a routine oriented child and that is what school is all about. You did a good job adjusting to your new babysitter, but cry every time I take you. You say, "No, not Janels!". She always sends me a text 2 mins later telling me you are fine. You sure do like to make your mom feel bad. Something else we have been working on is potty training. You are outsmarting me on this one. "No, not the potty!" you yell or say, "Ok, I sit on potty and count to 20!", but you do nothing. I guess when you are ready, you will go. You still love warm milk. Yep, 38 seconds warm to be exact. If it is too cold you will say, "It is cold, cook it!" so we will.
One thing about your birthday means that our summer is almost over. We had a great summer playing and doing as much as we could considering all that it takes to get out the door. You love to push your sisters in the stroller and push the button to close the van door. We get a lot of attention when we go out and about and everyone thinks our crew is pretty cute and are impressed with you being such a helper. It really is a big help that you like to help!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Little Man. You are growing up so fast (and talking fast too) and we couldn't be more blessed to call you ours. You are a sweet, ornery, loving, hard-working, smart, athletic, determined little big boy. We are looking forward to watching you grow this year! You are going to have so much fun!

Love always,

Mommy & Daddy (and your sisters too)

Two babies. Two nights in a row!

Two babies slept all night two nights in a row!

-

I am not sure if they were so tired that they slept through the night or we were so tired that we didn't hear them.

Either way, two babies slept all night for two nights in a row and were so happy the next day!!

So Tired

Just the other night, everyone was so tired.

I think it was because a certain little boy skipped his nap and two little girls decided to wake up 20 times during the night.

The girls are official on "cry it out" at night and did pretty good for a week. This week is a totally different story!! Every time they cry I go into their room, put the binki back in, and walk out. Next time they cry I wait 15 mins and then repeat. This trend is getting old. One rule I haven't broken is picking them up. However, if they were sick or in pain, of course I would, but because they want a wubby, no way! The great swaddled sleepers have now found comfort in their wubbs rather than the swaddle!
The love for wubbanub is driving this momma crazy.
Each girl now has a little lovie to keep with them at night to help soothe them back to sleep. I am crossing my fingers they sleep through the night soon! They have been much happier and more predictable now that they are not getting fed in the middle of the night, so at least that is going well!

We will see how tonight goes!

Fun at Knight's

We were very lucky this week and went to the water park two days in a row! The twins stayed at home with grandma while we beat the heat!

Rollie Pollie

Sweet Adalyn decided that today would be the day to go from belly to back, back to belly, and belly to back. She was in her crib and just woke up from her nap. It was cute. She did it again later right before bath!

Sweet little Amelia was my clothes model today. I was pulling out all 3 month pajamas to let another twin mommy go through and 3 month pajamas fit her perfect. Too bad they are winter! Nothing like a 6 1/2 month old baby in 3 month clothes! I guess what is even more crazy is that the poor girl can still wear a preemie diaper. Is it tight? Of course, but it works! Would I trust it for more than an hour? No way! But we still have 3 left in the drawer!

Some day they will appreciate being small :)!

But possibly their love for sweet potatoes has a different plan for their growth!

Double the Love

Today the girls and I headed into Springfield to meet up with another mom and her twins. Lydia and Hannah are 9 months old.

It was fun seeing two sets of double and watching the big girls talk to each other!

Thanks for having us over! Can't wait until our next visit!

CC Fair 2012

It is fair time again! We headed to the fair last night and met up with some friends. It was quite the experience with all the children and Jayden being the age where he wants to rise a few rides.

We started at the petting zoo with a few little animals.

We enjoyed some fair food and then headed for the fun house!

The boys had a blast! Even Brody was able to play in the ball pit with Layne and Jayden!

We had to take a girl picture because this was the 3 A's first fair!

Aaron and J enjoyed the *longest* boat ride before we headed for the tractors.

The boys were in heaven with the tractors. The girls just put up with it and did a great job!

We ended the night by watching the four wheeler race. The kids had to be 5 years old! They were cute!!

3 tired little people with very dirty sleep enjoyed a nice bath and slept very well last night!
