Jayden Basketball: Week 2

Jayden continues to *love* basketball. He is getting better at listening, not crying and even dribbling. It is seriously a comedy show watching his team. The coaches are patient and work really well with all of the kids. Even if all of them are rolling around on the ground.

Week 2 Jayden had a pretty big audience. His Great Grandma and Grandpa Acree as well as his Nana were up for a visit from Mt. Carmel. Poppy, GMA, Mollie and Madeline came as well. Of course, our little family was there too.
Jayden got to play A LOT. There were other kids crying and other kids who did not want to play, so Jayden took their place since they wouldn't go out on the court.
He dribbled the ball, ran with the ball, stole the ball, wouldn't pass the ball.........
attempted a shot at the basket.....no good!
He ran his little heart out!
Then it was his lucky break! He ran/dribbled down the court and lucky for him SLAM DUNK!
After jumping up and down as you saw in the video, he ran slightly past center court.
He stopped. He bowed. "Thank you, thank you!" he said to everyone cheering!
It was hysterical. I wish I would have kept the video ON!!!
After, we enjoyed lunch with out out of town family and the kids received their Valentine's Day gifts.

Thanks to everyone who came and watched Jayden, watched his video and to those who are helping him. He is loving going to the gym each week with his Dad and practicing at basketball school. I have really seen him shining since this started. I think it is exactly what we needed for our midwinter break.
It is funny that the kid who cried when I dropped him off at a babysitters house is the same kid who just can't get enough of the crowd at a basketball game. He sure is a character!

Little Builder

We know he comes by his building skills quite naturally but a tower of cinnamon rolls?!? Really?!?

A freshly opened 30 pack of cinnamon rolls stuffed into a single green bowl. Guess that's his way of showing us who owns them. Moreover, someone has claimed these as his breakfast for the remainder of the week!

He was proud of his tower and I expect nothing less from him. Creative kid. Proud of his work. Problem solver on how NOT to share with his sisters or his momma.

Well played, Jayden. Well played.

Adalyn & Amelia's 1st Birthday Video

Adalyn & Amelia's video is finally posted on YouTube.

You can find it by clicking here.

What a crazy year it was. Thinking this year is going to be even crazier if that is possible!

Jayden's 1st Basketball Game

The next five weeks are going to be busy with basketball games. Luckily a friend of mine gave me the heads up on a bitty basketball league in our area and I signed Jayden up to participate.

They started the game with wearing sweat bands to signify who guards who.
His shirt (a size 8!!) was waaaay to big. Grandma has some sewing to do this week before our next game. The poor guy had to wear a hair tie around the back of it to keep it from going to his knees.

He has a little boy on his team with the last name Colonius. How funny is that?!?
He really understood to go after the ball......
Each time he was in, you could find him where the ball was......

He didn't quite understand that you need to pass the ball
 or the shoot the ball.
He did score a pack of M&M's from his Poppy at the end of the game. Lucky guy.

Overall, he had a blast. We got a good laugh and we will be back at it next weekend!

Playing with Sisters

Now that the girls are on the move, Jayden is starting to "kind of" enjoy this whole sister thing.

They like to sit on him. He likes to tickle them.

He likes to boss them around. They like to follow him.

Oh this summer is going to be wild!!

Bedtime Reading

My days are busy. My nights are even busier with three kids and a husband who works every single night. I wish I had more time in the day to accomplish everything that I have on my list. Tonight I skipped the cleaning, putting laundry away and even dishes to get some extra time in with Jayden. He really loves his one on one time and doesn't have to fight for any attention.

He loaded up his pillow, blanket, four books of his choice and we headed off to read. He grabbed Mickey at last minute too.

We enjoyed our four books, one "read" by him. In his world it was about a green dinosaur with a red hat and then he said, "hey mom, how about you finish the story?". So I did.

Looking forward to summer when I can spend more time with my own kids.

This whole working mom thing is overrated, but I will be back at it again tomorrow.

Amelia's 1st Ear Infection

Little bitty Amelia has her first ear infection. After nine days on antibiotics for her sinus infection, she started a new antibiotic for an ear infection.

On Sunday she was NOT happy all day so off to prompt care we went. Left ear was "not looking pretty" as her doctor stated.

Hoping this was a fluke. Praying we don't have a Jayden Jr. on our hands.

Basketball School

Jayden loves to go to the gym to play basketball.

He is the shortest on the team. And the youngest.

He *tries* to shoot the ball.

He runs laps. He isn't the fastest. He could possibly be the slowest. And he may cheat on the drills not fully going to the black line, but I won't tattle on him.

He is having fun and that's all that counts!

He mailed it out on December 10th. I guess next year we will send ours out earlier!

Winter ONEderland

It was a winter ONEderland this weekend! We celebrated Adalyn and Amelia's FIRST ever BIRTHDAY!
They both were feeling so much better which made everything that much more perfect! Family and friends came to celebrate the special occasion with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who popped in to celebrate this special day with our family.

I was busy in the kitchen the day before baking as much as I could. I had help from a friend with the cute cupcakes and cookies. She made them perfectly!
Another friend put her creativity to use and made these awesome banners for the girls. I thought they were perfect!!

Adalyn and Amelia were both so happy and rocked their bling way better than I expected!

My mom created the backdrop to make it feel like a wonderland. Nanny sewed snowballs for the kids to play with. Perfect!

The twins loved their cakes and didn't get too messy!

They were blessed with many gifts in which we are so thankful for. I think they have enough clothes to make it through the winter! They even scored their first pair of Sperry's. I suppose that means I need some too!
This spring and summer is going to be full of outdoor fun on their new 4-wheelers and playtime with their new kitchen!
I wish I could have captured more pictures of their fabulous day. It really was a ONEderland in there and it was ONEderful. I don't think it could have been any better.

Well, I guess if I would have remembered to serve the ice cream and reminded people to take their thank you bags of popcorn it could have been better. But, if that was the worst of our worries, then I say we were pretty lucky!
