A Case of the Spots

Poor Jayden has a "case of the spots" as we have been calling them. Since we returned home from our visit to Mt. Carmel, I noticed some spots. At first, heat rash from our day at the beach was my guess but they ended up being bug bites from playing in the sand. I have some around my ankles too.

To add to it, because we have to do everything the hard way, he has a double ear infection too. Babies with tubes in their ears shouldn't play in lake or river water. That didn't cross my mind or anyone else's until after the fact. I put ear drops in as soon as we got home, but that didn't fix our mistake. Guess what happened after that? A fever. A two day fever and a little boy who can finally tell me his ear hurts.

So after a few days of monitoring we hit up prompt care to find out he in fact has a double ear infection, infected bug bites from scratching them, and an outrageous case of diaper rash.

Poor little guy has been so healthy since his tonsils were removed until now. He is on antibiotics, Benadryl for the itch, ear drops, and topical cream. I'm pretty sure that this was a lesson learned for the future!

At least he had fun at the beach while it lasted. I'm pretty sure chlorine pools are in the future for our little fish the rest of this summer.

Park Play Date

On Tuesday the girls and I had a date with Jayden at the park. We owed him a trip since last time it was cut short due to fussy babies.

He was a monkey and even decided to try out the big boy swings!

We stopped for lunch at McDonalds and below is what I saw when we pulled into the driveway. Three very tired babies. Everyone enjoyed a nap for an hour. Exactly what they needed and me too!!

Happy Father's Day

We headed to Mt. Carmel for Father's Day weekend as we have for the past few years. Aaron gets to do whatever he wants on Father's Day and his choice is always boating!

We packed for an army for the girls and Jayden to have a successful trip and it worked!
Jayden had tons of fun playing in the giant "sandbox" with his cousins. Sweet Eric held the twins almost every chance he could over the weekend. He loves babies!!

Daddy with his crew: Amelia, Adalyn & Jayden

Nana with her girls in their very first bikinis! :)
Papa with his three favorite grand kids!

Aaron ended the day with his favorite past time: wakeboarding!

Happy Father's Day to all!!

St. Louis City Museum

On Tuesday, we adventured down to St. Louis with my mom and kids to visit the City Museum. I had never been there before, but it is a place we will visit again in the near future! It has an inside, outside, and even a rooftop! There are tunnels to climb, slides, and everything in between.

Jayden climbed the tallest tunnel, painted the cutest little picture and had a blast in the ball pit!! We cannot wait to go back and take Daddy! We had so much fun!!

Catch Up Post

Being out of school for the summer means I have a lot more time to take pictures on my camera. Sitting down to blog, well, that is a different story!

Our friends, Katie and Charlie, sent the girls these adorable outfits and pretty white bows after they were born.
I had some time to take their 5 month sticker pictures too. Big brother wanted a sticker too.
We have had time to play outside in our own "waterpark" since getting to the real waterpark is a chore.

We've also had some time to play with Adan, Reagan, and Livia!

Jayden has also improved his 4 wheeling skills....even when he is diaperless! Looks like we are in for a fun summer ahead!

New Haircut

It was time for Jayden to get a summer cut. I just didn't expect it to be this short!

I guess that's what happens when a girl takes a boy for a haircut and doesn't know what number is the right one. Now I know. Scissors on top. 4 on bottom.

Daddy was a little shocked that I let the lady cut off all his hair but we think he looks like a big boy now!

Such a sweet big boy!!!

First Swim

Adalyn and Amelia enjoyed their first swim yesterday with Auntie K!

They loved the water and splashed around.

Thanks for having us over Katie! Thanks to Bailey for watching the girls for a bit so Katie and I could lay out for a bit!

Maybe when the kids are older this is what our back yard will look like! Wouldn't that be perfect!

5 Months Old

The twins are 5 months old!! WOW!! They are getting cuter by the day and starting to look more and more alike too!!

1. My best guess on weight would be 12 and 13 pounds....we will check tomorrow!
2. The girls are still wearing size 3 month clothes and have moved to size 2 diapers! They still are wearing 1's as I find them here and there, but we are done opening size 1.
3. They are really wanting to sit up, but they have not got the hang of it. We finally got a double jogger so I hope to take them on some walks soon so they can look around at the world around them.
4. Wubbanubs---love them! Most people don't like when babies have binkis, but in this case I don't really mind. I think that getting rid of them will be easy when it is time. we will be able to cut off the binki and they will still have the animal.
5. Both girls are still eating 4 oz. at a feeding. I generally can get them to take 5 or 6 oz at 10, but Aaron didn't have the same luck when I was out of town. We will see if they are ready to eliminate this feeding or if they just missed their momma.
6. Premixed formula in the fridge is still the favorite around here. The twins still nurse when they have the opportunity, but mostly formula is now used.
7. They are still sharing a bed upstairs and they look so cute snuggling next to each other!
8. Bedtime routine is perfect! Now if we can only get them to sleep through the night....
9. This summer means a lot of walks, tummy time, and a day time routine established! Can't wait!!
10. Our little babies bring so much joy to everyone! They sure are attention getters in public. I love watching them grow and change. We are very blessed!
