Water Wednesday

Every Wednesday we head out to Patrick, Meredith, and Layne's house to hang out with our friends or go on a walk while the big boys wakeboard or golf. This week we didn't go for a walk, but we let the boys play outside at the water table. Three boys all in size 4 diapers weighing basically the same amount makes for a pretty cute picture.
They had so much fun splashing around and making a mess with the water!
Henry and Jayden were just having a ball splashing each other. Layne thought it was funny!
Then they decided to go for a run! Layne was giving them a tour of his big back yard.

Jayden actually slept passed 9:00 am today so I know that he had a lot of fun! Until next week!

NashVegas!!!

Amy, Meredith, Kristy, Sarah and I headed down to Nashville for a few days last week. We did a little shopping, ate some great food, slept in, and enjoyed ourselves beyond belief at the NKOTBSB concert. It was a lot of fun for a short vacation away from the boys!

Our first night out, these people with an awesome accent caught my attention. The moment they said they were from England, Kristy and Sarah couldn't stop talking to them about Will and Kate. They were really the nicest people!!
This picture is out of order, but it is the final song of the night at the concert. It was AWESOME!!! Below is us at a wonderful place called the Pancake Pantry. I haven't enjoyed pancakes like that in my entire life!

Here we are at the concert. Although most of the audience was in our age group, I think we all felt like we were 12 again when New Kids and Backstreet Boys were playing. It was a great concert and a great few days with great friends. Up next summer--somewhere with a beach and we decided the boys are going to go with us too, but not the baby boys. Anyone up to babysitting for a few days?

23 Months Old

He is getting so close to TWO!!

1. Jayden still is a skinny little man, but according to my scale he is up to 25 lbs. He is getting a bit heavier to tote around the house and everywhere else we go.
2. Still wearing diapers, but is beginning to wake up dry or semi-dry in the mornings. I think potty training will be started in about 6 more months. He is wearing size 18-24 month clothes, with some clothes being a size 2T.
3. Jayden LOVES slides, basketball, and now he is obsessed with golf. If he sees kids playing basketball he is instantly attracted to them. We had to avoid the basketball courts and slides while at the camp ground in Indiana because he wanted to play SO bad. If he didn't get to, he would cry.
4.This month I have been able to see more of Jayden than ever since I am home for the summer. He just loves all of his toys! He will play with his kitchen, play with blocks, work on the ipad, shoot some hoops, play with shapes, and go down the slide. He is 100% kid and 100% boy which is perfect for me.
5. Being home with him all day also allows me to be in more control of what he eats and when he eats. He is a good breakfast eater. He always has a glass of milk with something. For lunch, he stuffs himself. Fish sticks, chicken, pizza, mac n' cheese, cheeseburger or anything else in his path, he eats. We are still working on his eating habits at dinner, but if he is hungry he will eat. Recently, he ate fish for dinner that his Daddy and PawPaw caught in the backyard. He loves fish sticks so it didn't surprise me too much that he enjoyed real fish.
6. Favorite drinks: milk and juice. He is NOT a fan of water anymore. We will work on that.
7. He almost has all of his teeth. I suppose the next adventure will be 2 year molars.
8. He LOVES his Crocs. The child wears them as much as possible. He likes to wear them to fall asleep in too. He says "shoes on" when we take them off. I would say he is a bit obsessed. It is very nice for him to be able to get them on all by himself, but I am not sure what we will do if we lose them!
9. Jayden is sleeping into 8 most mornings which is great for me. I love that we are not awake at 5 am or even 7 am. He loves to take a nap from about 12:00-3:00 each day, which is perfect.
10. Jayden is a funny little guy and overall is pretty happy. He is 100% boy, but loves to cuddle with his Momma and his blankies. He is getting smarter everyday and is starting to become his own person with his own routines and desires. He loves Mickey and recognizes every character from the show. It is funny to hear him say their names. Now if we could only teach him names of EVERYONE in our families. I know, that would take forever. He loves his numbers and shapes. Letters, not so much, unless it involves J-A-Y-D-E-N. I have decided that he will find a career in the math and science field for sure.

Happy 23 Month Birthday, Jayden!!! Only one more month until we celebrate your 2nd Birthday!! It has been a fun month filled with walks at the park, playing on the swings, swimming, watching Mickey, playing games, eating breakfast and lunch, sleeping in, going on adventures, working on the houses (he is a good helper), and snuggling with you whenever I want!!

We love you very much and so do a bunch of other people too! You are one LUCKY boy!!!

Holiday World

Over the weekend we headed to Southern Indiana to Holiday World. Aaron and I both have been there a few times, but it has grown by leaps and bounds since the last time. It was around $36 for both of us and children 2 and under get in free.

Above is the kid area, which Jayden loved! The slides were just his size and there was a spash pad that he played on.

I am pretty sure he went down the slides over 100 times. He got so good that he didn't want to sit on our laps, he wanted to do it on his own. We will make the trip back again next year for sure. I bet he will have even more fun when he is 2!
More pictures to come.....when I have time!!

Bryce Came to Play

A few weekends ago, our friends Lisa and Brett brought over their cutie Bryce to play with Jayden. We actually haven't seen Bryce since he was a little baby. He still looks like the same little guy he can just talk, walk, and has a cool spiky hair now. I think he looks a lot like his cousin Kenlee.

Jayden was a little shy to have extra people over at his house, but shot some hoops with Bryce who loves basketball just like J. They got out the ipad and played Angry Birds and worked on their animal sounds. Thanks for coming to visit us!! We are going to have to come down and visit you and your cousin this summer!!!

Ranch?

Jayden found a new love. Ranch. His friend Henry loves ranch too. Maybe they talked.
He really loves to dip carrots in ranch dip, but not eat the carrot.

He loves ranch so much that when you take it away he cries like a baby.

Juice and Pop Parts

The last few mornings a certain little boy has had a request for breakfast. "Want juice and pop parts, momma". Generally, he drinks milk for breakfast, but not today.
He drank all of his juice and ate BOTH of his strawberry pop tarts.
Now if only he would eat dinner as good as he eats breakfast then all would be good. Last night, he didn't want a thing to do with his hot dog while we were eating our dinner. We just left it on the table and when he was ready, he went and ate at the table all by himself. I guess if that is what he wanted to do, then fine by me, as long as he eats!
These two pictures are from yesterday when we headed to the park. We didn't quite get up early enough to sit and eat our breakfast. Oh, well. It is summer break!!
I just thought he looked like such a big boy in his shoes and cute little Nike outfit.

Pawnee Parade

This past weekend we drove Reagan in the Pawnee parade. I was happy to get back behind the wheel of a convertible. Totally made me miss mine!

Jayden got into the parade mode and started waving at the people too!

My Mom also created a float for the public library. All of the other little kids got to ride on the float dressed as princesses. They had a lot of fun.

Little Miss Pawnee

There were TWO very pretty little girls in the Little Miss Pawnee contest tonight named Livia and Reagan.
Livia and Reagan looked so pretty with their cute little hair curled and their very pretty dresses.
They both did a great job dancing, walking on stage, and answering their questions. This was Livia's first time in the big girl pageant and Reagan's second.
But, in the end, Regan's name got called. She was so proud and looked over at me when she walked up to get her crown.

Congrats to Livia on your beautiful metal and a super job in the pageant.
Congrats to Reagan on your new title as Little Miss Pawnee Prairie Days 2011.
Everyone is so proud of the both of you!!!!!

Bubbles with Nanny

We stopped by Nanny's house this week to pick up some jeans she was fixing for Aaron and while we were there she had out the bubbles.
Jayden wasn't sure what to think at first, but then he decided that bubbles are fun.

When we got home, I asked him if he wanted to go down his slide. Well, we had two different ideas of going down a slide. My thought was the yellow one. His idea: the pool slide.
Before I could say "Noooo", he went down, 100%  dressed. I just decided it was easier to let him go down until he was 100% soaked.
He had fun. I had fun. What else could be better?

Ready for Summer

We are ready for summer!!!

Today we headed to Knight's Action Park with Madeline and her friend Emily. Jayden wasn't too fond of the water at first, but after a while he loved it. He fell asleep as we rode around the lazy river. I think I made 5 laps with sleeping baby. It was so relaxing! We are going back very soon!!

4 kids...I will stick with ONE

The three little ones stayed the night earlier in the week. Four kids take up a lot of time and your house doesn't ever get clean until.....
You get the little one to mop the floor, while the boys play.
Get the big one to clean all the counter tops.
But, as much as we cleaned, it didn't matter.
Because the littlest one of all , dumped out an entire box of cereal before any of us could catch him and the entire process started over again.

Lesson Learned: If you have 4 kids, your house may never be clean again and it will take you FOREVER to get 4 loaded up in the car. You will be an hour late getting to where you need to go because someone or something is always missing. Stick with one child and borrow everyone else's. It is a lot easier!!!
