Back to Work

I'm back to being a working mom and so far it hasn't been too bad. Granted I've only been there two days but I'm pretty sure the next 9 weeks are going to fly by! Or at least I hope.....

Thankfully I don't have to leave the house with any kids in the morning. This really makes my life a whole lot easier! I'm thankful for everyone who is helping out and for our two new temporary babysitters my mom found for the kids. I love having someone walk in my house at 6:50 in the morning!

After my first day back this little person was awake when I walked in the door and instantly lit up when I greeted her. It was so cute!

He was pretty happy too!

This little one really didn't want me to go to work today because she woke up just in time to catch 15 minutes of alone time with me before I headed out the door.

I'm sure we are going to have our good days and our bad but things are working out pretty good right now and that is all that matters!

A Chick Magnet and Two Little Chicks

My Taylorville photography friend holds baby chick pictures in the spring and I really wanted to try them this year. I was crossing my fingers all week as I talked to Jayden about baby chicks. Much to my surprise, he sat right down and waited for the baby chicks. After he warmed up, he wouldn't sit down for longer than 10 seconds, but in that time she managed to get a few shots.

He looked like such a big boy in his new Easter sweater from Poppy and Grammy. He actually wanted to wear it all day long, but we are saving it for Easter Sunday!! He looks like his Daddy in that top picture and such a big boy!!

My two little chicks were not as cooperative. They were not a fan of the bright sun. However, when we got home they were wide eyed and ready to go!! I took a few shots while they were dressed up. I wasn't able to get their picture together. It is way too hard to get the attention of two babies at the same time!!
Adalyn is on top and Amelia is below.

Amelia is on top and Adalyn is below. Can you tell Amelia is really tired??

All three of them are going to look pretty cute on Easter. Maybe they will cooperate then?? I won't hold my breath!!

Sweet Amelia

Poor baby was worn out after a day of shopping and everyone thinking she was a boy. A tiny little boy actually.

I guess she just needs bigger bows to let everyone know she is a girl. The pink blanket, pink toy, pink bow and outfit just weren't enough today.

Poor baby. At least she doesn't know that strangers keep calling her a boy.

Well, maybe she does and her feelings were just a little hurt. And for that reason they both got a new pink dress.

Backyard Fun

We had some fun last night in our backyard!

Who needs a double stroller when you can fit two babies in one?? This won't work much longer, but it was perfect for a trip to see the horses. Both girls took a little nap!

The trees are starting to look amazing!! The colors are starting to pop!

April was even being friendly and let everyone feed her.....we were very cautious just in case! :)

And somebody became brave enough to swing without being buckled in!

We are going to have a lot of fun in our backyard over the next few years!!

Adalyn & Amelia's Baptism

Adalyn and Amelia were baptized this weekend at St. Mary's in Mt. Carmel.

Aunt Kay and Uncle Tim served as God parents to sweet Amelia and Uncle John and Aunt Kim stood up with sweet Adalyn. Thank you for being part of this day!!
Father Bill did a great job with the girls in a quick and special baptism that included our family. He is the best!

We enjoyed a luncheon after hosted by Nana to help celebrate this special day. The girls received many cute outfits from our family and really special pink leopard dresses from Great Grandma's favorite store Hugs and Hissyfits in Florida!
Jayden looked so cute at church, but fell asleep on the way in town!
Great Grandma and Grandpa Acree with their first great grandgirls!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped celebrate the girls' baptism. It was such a beautiful day!

Clear the Camera

Aaron says I take too many pictures.
I say that I don't take enough. :)
This is what part of our day looks like. The girls sit in their nap nanny while I talk to them and Jayden joins us.
Sometimes he will even talk to them and say "aww...she's cute!".
 Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

 Such a happy girl!!

Honestly, if I didn't have different animals on their binkis, I wouldn't know who was who in this picture!

Jayden's First Fish

Jayden and his daddy went fishing this weekend when we visited Mt. Carmel. After a few casts, they caught a little fish!
Jayden wasn't scared of his fish and held it like a champ!
Look, Mom! I caught a fish!!

Big Boy Bed

We did it. He did it. They *almost* did. Finally.

Yesterday evening we moved Jayden down to his new room and moved the girls to the extra bedroom upstairs.

When he got home he was happy to see his new room with his crib (yes, he still sleeps in one and has never climbed out) and big boy bed all in the same location. He said "wow, cool!" several times.

When it was bedtime we all went downstairs to say goodnight and asked him where he wanted to sleep. Big bed is what he told us. I thought to myself-really the big boy bed after we moved your crib down here. We could have kept it upstairs for your sisters!! Oh, well.

That blob you see is in fact him in a queen bed, all alone. At 1 am we did hear a cry and saw an empty bed. Guess side rails would be good to have! Oops!!

On another note, the girls are now in a bedroom and out of the living room! Woo hoo! I think they are happy too because I didn't hear a cry until 3 am or at least what I thought was a cry from Adalyn. Amelia slept until right now, 3:37 am, making their middle of the night times being slightly off again which is exactly what I like and need! Two awake at the same time in the middle of the night wore me out these past few nights.

Will the luck continue tomorrow and into the next few months? Oh, I hope so!

Time for bed. Amelia chugged her 3 oz. rather quickly. Adalyn's 4 took a lot longer!!

Him coming up the stairs at 8 am after a good nights sleep!

Two Month Pictures

Here are a few pictures of the girls I took for their two month birthday!

A Visit from Nana and fun at the Park!

While Aaron was in Denver, I had some help with the babies! On Sunday, we headed to the park. Adalyn and Amelia wore their new outfits from great grandma and of course their purple bows!
They took off on a walk with Nana while Jayden and I headed for the playground.

He had tons of fun going down all of the different slides.

He also did some balance practice and wanted me to do it as well. I guess I never told him that I am a pro at the balance beam, but he figured it out pretty quickly. All those years of tumbling and gymnastics paid off!

First Skirts

There isn't a better outfit that a jean skirt on an 80 degree day!!!

I heard it was going to be even warmer tomorrow. Guess I will have to find these sweet girls some summer clothes. I'm sure we have some. They just might look like boys!
