Jayden is 5!

Wow! 5 years old!! The last 5 years has been the fastest five years of our lives. Granted, some days and weeks went terribly slow, but over all fast!

This is you at age 1!

                           Age 5

Dear Jayden--

Happy 5th Birthday to our favorite guy! You have grown up so much this year, it's incredible. Some things, such as your shy mannerisms, haven't changed, but you are getting better. You are trying new things and not being as "scared" of everything.

This year you enjoyed school five days a week all day. You learned how to be a better friend and all sorts of things kids learn in kindergarten. Going on "yellow" was devastating for you, but it only happened a few times. When you would see kids in your class, they would tell "Jayden!!!!" like you were on an episode of Cheers. Your dancing skills were superb as we saw at your preschool graduation. We believe that charm comes from Uncle Adam.

You played sports this year: basketball and baseball--both a love of yours. This summer you actually started to grow so I think basketball season next year will be a lot of fun! Daddy coached both because I make him and some day both of you will look back and thank me. Speaking of sports, you went to another Cubs vs. Cardinals game this spring. Lucky duck. People wait their whole life for that and you have been twice in 5 years.

The most important part of this year is that your love for your family has grown. You have always loved Mommy and Daddy and have cared for other people, but finally you are starting to show your love and not always hide. Sometimes you still do but it is getting better! You love your sisters so much now and they adore you. They think you are the coolest and they try to be like you. You are getting better about giving love to family we don't see often and talking around them. You still have a ways to go, but we are proud of you.

Happy 5th Birthday, Jayden!!! You had a busy day and I am sure that it is safe to say you loved it!

Love, Mom
