Love Letter~Adalyn and Amelia are ONE!!

10:38~ The time I was admitted into the hospital after a few hours at home crying in pain and thinking it wasn't time to go simply because I wasn't ready, but both of you were. From then on, I have lived on your time and not mine.
The girls on their birthday--despite a fever. They put on their new dresses and headed to the doctor!

Adalyn & Amelia~

Today you are ONE! One year, 365 days, 52 weeks, 8,765 hours. It all boils down to O-N-E year old. This by far has been the fastest year of my life. The both of you have made our family complete, we couldn't have asked for anything more. My obsession with the color pink has been escalated to a higher level than your dad can handle because of you. After a year he is getting better. Don't worry I will continue to break him in with cute clothes, bows, shoes, and whatever else our hearts desire over the years.  We will continue to  put him over the edge while you are young so he is prepared for the teenage years. That might be more of a shock to him than the night he came home to see your double pink room and pink bedding. At least I have twelve years to prep him on that birthday!

The both of you are momma girls and daddy girls. You sometimes (well, almost 100% of the time) cry when we leave the room even though both of you still have each other in plain sight. I am sure soon enough you won't worry when we leave because you will know we are coming back. We always come back and no matter where we are, we are thinking of you and that silly brother of yours.

You have endured some pain from your older brother this past year too. You two think he is so cool and well, he doesn't quite think the same of you. He considers you a tackling dummy, a horse, a pain and someone who has stolen his mommy! Soon enough the three of you will be playing side by side being best of friends.

The past year, you have shared a room and been great sleepers. You love routine and Adalyn, you love to sleep more than any child I know. Amelia, you have to be awake so you can see what is going on. You are curious and can't miss a beat. The both of you have grown from 4 and 5 pound babies to big girls almost fitting into the size that correlates with your age. You have taken steps and both babble nonsense. We need to start working on some words, but they will come in time just as everything else does.

You love to eat pancakes for breakfast with a yogurt, apples & chicken and a fruit for lunch, mac n' cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans for dinner. Those are your favorites. You have found success with a sippy cup and really enjoy drinking your bottles. You like to play with your Bitty Babies, musical instruments, cans from the lazy susan, my make-up bag and laundry. The both of you love to go through your clothes baskets and toss everything out. It is funny to watch.

The two of you have caught us a lot of attention. Seriously. A lot. Everyone has to stop and check out the twins and see if they are girls, boys, one of each, identical, or fraternal. We are now to a point that the general public has figured out you are identical girls. Finally.

I am looking forward to watching you grow (so does everyone else) and spending time with the both of you this summer. We are going to have so much fun!

Happy 1st Birthday to the sweetest Acree twins on the planet. We love you to the moon and back!!

xoxo ~Momma & Dadda
